Community and Safety Standards
Version 1 · Last updated 12 October 2026
1. Our standards
Roamkin works because neighbours trust each other. Everyone on the platform is expected to be honest, respectful and safe.
2. Respect and non-discrimination
Do not discriminate, harass or threaten anyone because of race, gender, religion, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. Abusive language, intimidation and unwanted contact lead to account action.
3. Honesty
Provide genuine information and documents. Do not create fake accounts, fake listings or fake reviews, or alter photos, odometer readings or condition reports.
4. Vehicle and road safety
- Vehicles must be roadworthy, with working brakes, lights, tyres and seatbelts
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or while fatigued or distracted
- Obey the Road Traffic Act, speed limits and seatbelt laws
- Carry no more passengers or load than the vehicle is designed for
- Do not use the vehicle for any unlawful purpose
5. Meeting safely
Hand over and collect vehicles in well-lit, public or agreed locations where possible, check each other's identity, and use in-app messages so there is a record. If you feel unsafe, leave and contact us.
6. Reporting
Report safety concerns, harassment, suspected fraud or a vehicle problem through the app or at [email protected]. In an emergency contact the police or emergency services first. We take reports seriously and do not allow retaliation against people who report in good faith.
7. Enforcement
Breaches may lead to a warning, listing removal, suspension or permanent removal, and we may report unlawful conduct to the authorities. Where practical we will explain our reasons and let you respond.
