A parked car is a depreciating one
Most vehicles owned from abroad spend their time in one of two states: standing still for months at a stretch, or being looked after by friends and relatives with no record of where the car goes or who is driving it.
There is a third option. Roamkin manages the vehicle on your behalf and puts every trip on the platform, so the car earns its keep and you can follow its bookings and earnings.
The service can include
What we put in place depends on the vehicle, where it is, and what is already fitted to it. We will confirm the details with you before anything goes live.
A Vehicle Custody Schedule covering inventory, pricing and commission, spending approval, custody location, insurance, tracking and payout terms must be signed before custody starts; this page does not itself transfer possession. You remain responsible for valid motor insurance covering paid rentals — Roamkin does not provide insurance by accepting custody. See the Diaspora Vehicle Custody and Management Agreement.
The Owner dashboard is read-only for bookings. To use the vehicle yourself, request it at least seven calendar days before collection (shorter notice may be accepted if the vehicle is available); to extend personal use, ask at least 48 hours before the agreed return time. Confirmed renter bookings take priority. Either party may end the management arrangement on at least three calendar days' written notice, and confirmed bookings are honoured or lawfully resolved.
Safekeeping and management
Under a signed Vehicle Custody Schedule, Roamkin takes custody of your vehicle on physical handover and manages it with reasonable care. Ownership always stays with you.
Rentals through the marketplace
The vehicle is listed to verified, KYC-checked renters on the Roamkin marketplace.
Read-only booking visibility
Booking dates, status, rental activity and earnings are visible on a read-only Owner dashboard or in periodic reports, subject to Renter privacy. Roamkin runs the bookings.
Tracking provider integration
You choose and maintain a tracking device and supplier. Roamkin does not prescribe or endorse a provider.
Tracking for security and recovery
With an operational tracking device in place, access is used only for lawful vehicle security and recovery. Renters are told before booking that a vehicle is tracked.
Records of every handover
Each booking has a documented handover and return, with check-in and check-out photos and movement logs kept by Roamkin.
Earnings from an idle car
A vehicle that would otherwise sit parked can generate income while you are away. Commission, expenses, payout cadence and the payout initiation deadline are set out in your Custody Schedule before the vehicle is handed over, with an itemised monthly statement.
