General Platform Terms of Service

1. About Roamkin and these Terms

Roamkin is an online marketplace that connects people who own vehicles (Hosts) with people who want to rent them (Renters) in Zimbabwe. Roamkin is not the owner of listed vehicles and is not a car rental company, unless a booking expressly says otherwise.

By creating an account or using the website or app you agree to these Terms and to the other Roamkin policies listed on the Terms & Policies page. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Who may use Roamkin

You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter a contract, and provide accurate and current information when you register. Renters must hold a driving licence that is valid in Zimbabwe for the class of vehicle booked.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Roamkin's role

Roamkin provides the technology and services that let Hosts list vehicles, let Renters book them, and let both parties pay, sign agreements, record vehicle condition and resolve disputes. The rental contract is between the Host and the Renter.

Roamkin is not an insurer. It does not guarantee any insurance cover or the outcome of any claim. See the Insurance and Vehicle Protection Policy.

4. Listings and bookings

Hosts must describe vehicles accurately. Renters must use vehicles lawfully and as agreed. A booking is confirmed only when Roamkin shows it as confirmed and the required payment has been received through the platform.

Prices are shown in United States dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Fees and the security deposit are shown before you pay.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the platform for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading
• arrange or take payment outside the platform to avoid fees on a booking made through Roamkin
• post false listings, fake reviews or another person's documents
• interfere with the security or operation of the platform
• harass, threaten or discriminate against other users

6. Fees and payments

Roamkin charges a service fee, shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Paynow. Full details are in the Payments, Payouts and Fees Policy.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account, or remove a listing, where we reasonably believe these Terms or the law have been breached, where safety or fraud concerns exist, or where required by a regulator or court. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Closing an account does not cancel confirmed bookings or obligations that have already arisen.

8. Liability

Roamkin is responsible for its own services and conduct. To the extent permitted by law, Roamkin is not liable for the acts or omissions of Hosts or Renters, or for loss that we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under Zimbabwean consumer protection law or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or gross negligence.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the app, website or email. Changes do not apply retrospectively to bookings already confirmed.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Disputes may be brought before a competent Zimbabwean court or consumer authority. Before doing so, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the matter. Nothing here waives your statutory rights.
