Host Terms and Conditions
Version 5 · Last updated 12 October 2026
1. Becoming a Host
To list a vehicle you must be the owner of it or have the owner's written authority to rent it out, and you must complete Roamkin's identity and vehicle verification. Vehicles must have valid registration, a valid vehicle licence disc and be roadworthy. Roamkin may refuse or remove any listing.
2. Your listing
Listings must be truthful: make, model, year, condition, mileage rules, fuel or charging rules, features, photos, pickup location and price. Keep availability up to date. You must disclose known faults and any material restriction on use.
3. Insurance and legal compliance
You are responsible for keeping the vehicle legally compliant and for holding insurance appropriate for peer-to-peer or commercial rental use. Many standard private policies exclude rental use. Roamkin does not provide insurance. Insurance details must be supplied before the rental starts; blank fields do not create cover.
4. Handover and condition
Deliver the vehicle clean, safe, roadworthy, with required documents and the agreed equipment. At handover, complete the digital condition check with dated photos or video of the exterior, interior, tyres, glass, damage, mileage, fuel or battery level, warning lights and keys. Do the same at return.
5. Bookings and cancellations
Respond to requests promptly. If you cancel a confirmed booking the Renter receives a full refund. Roamkin applies a strike policy: a warning after the first Host cancellation, a final warning after the second, and possible suspension after the third, unless the cancellation was for a genuine safety or emergency reason.
6. Payouts and fees
Your payout is the rental amount less Roamkin's service fee, paid according to the Payments, Payouts and Fees Policy. You are responsible for your own tax obligations, including income tax on rental earnings.
7. Security deposit and damage
You may only claim against a security deposit for proven loss, supported by condition evidence and receipts or quotes, within the deadlines in the Security Deposit and Damage Policy. You may not charge hidden fees or make claims for normal wear and tear.
8. Conduct
Treat Renters fairly and lawfully. You may not discriminate, retain a Renter's documents, use vehicle tracker data for purposes beyond those disclosed, or take payment off-platform for bookings made through Roamkin.
9. Ending hosting
You may delist a vehicle at any time, but must honour confirmed bookings. Roamkin may suspend a Host who breaches these terms or places safety at risk.
